All teams in the NEK league were active Wednesday minus Hiawatha.
On Kanzaland Radio, Seneca (9-4, 4-1) defeated Holton (6-11, 3-6) in six innings 11-1. Seneca is now 2-0 against Holton this season by a combined score of 26-1.
Seneca out hit Holton 11-4 and Holton had four errors to Seneca‘s zero.
The Subway Player of the Game was Cody Heiman, who earned the complete game victory, throwing 114 pitches, striking out nine and allowing only four hits. Heiman did have six walks, but allowed just the one earned run.
Matt Schuman took the loss, yielding five runs on six hits in 2 2/3 innings.
Seneca‘s Kyle Haverkamp was 3-4 with 2 RBI, Brett Holthaus scored 3 runs, and Jake Nordhus was 2-3 with 4 RBI.
Elsewhere, Doniphan Co. (9-6, 4-2) slipped by Atchison (3-10, 1-5) 10-7.
Bryce Paden was credited with the win, throwing five innings, walking eight, giving up four earned runs, and striking out 11.
Eliot Nold led the D.C. offense with four hits and RBI.
Jerod Hawkins earned the two-inning save striking out six.
Also, Sabetha blanked Centralia 2-0 in a pitcher‘s duel.
Brock Boldra won the battle for Sabetha (12-7, 2-4), scattering eight hits while striking out 11.
Centralia‘s (4-8, 2-3) Cody Trimble allowed just five hits, but Sabetha scored two runs in the third inning on four hits.
Centralia stranded 11 runners on base.
Sabetha has won five in a row, while Centralia has dropped three straight.
And, Falls City lost at home to Beatrice 13-3. They are now 0-2 versus Beatrice this season.
Logan Faller was the losing pitcher and Jake Babb had the only Falls City (13-5, 5-1) hit, a double.
This loss snapped a two game win streak for Falls City, but they still have a half game lead over Seneca for first place in the NEK league standings.
