Recap of KS v. Neb 8-Man All-Star Game

Nebraska wins 58-20_ lead series 2-1

The third annual Kansas vs. Nebraska 8-Man All-Star game took place June 26th at Doane College in Crete, Nebraska. A lopsided opening quarter helped Nebraska win in dominant fashion 58-20.

Nebraska‘s first score came after a blocked Kansas punt and Nebraska led 20-0 after the first quarter. They went into halftime up 26-0.

Nebraska had a huge advantage in the passing game compiling 423 yards through the air to Kansas‘ 115. Kansas also turned the ball over six times to Nebraska‘s three.

Steve Tiernan, head coach of B&B, commanded the offense and his former quarterback, Kyle Haverkamp, led Kansas in rushing with 72 yards on 16 carries and passing, completing 8-13 for 69 yards and two interceptions.

Nathan Haug of B&B played on the defensive line and finished with a couple tackles for loss.

Hanover‘s Derrick Gerard (guard) and Jerod Diederich (cornerback) also competed for the Kansas side who has now dropped two straight in the series after winning the inaugural game.
